A soft goodbye: closing the page on Regime Skin Care

After nearly six years, over 300 product reviews and countless magazine pages, the time has come for me to turn the page on Regime Skin Care. On November 9th, Beauty Portfolio and this blog will officially bid farewell and go offline.

When I first launched this space, it was born out of a very specific need. I was undergoing TCHP chemotherapy for stage 3 inflammatory breast cancer. I needed something to occupy my mind and give me purpose. Back then, skincare and makeup were so much more than a routine — they were my lifeline. They transformed grey, depleted skin into something that looked healthy and vibrant and, crucially, looking well helped me feel well.

Since those early days, my journey with health hasn't been a straight line. Facing cancer a second time brought its own immense challenges. Yet, through the deepest fatigue, I kept writing, reviewing and publishing. This blog became a testament to showing up for myself and for all of you, even when energy was low.

However, running an independent, completely unmonetised platform comes with real-world costs. Between domain fees, magazine platform hosting, buying products out of pocket to test, and recent search engine changes that halved my readership, keeping the site afloat has become a significant financial drain.

As I look ahead to this winter, my priorities are shifting towards rest and self-care. I am stepping back from my part-time job to fully embrace a slow 'cosy season' and focus on planning a bright, restful Christmas with the people I love. Closing this chapter allows me the freedom and financial relief to do just that.

A few words of thanks

To everyone who has read a review, flipped through an issue, sent a kind message, or shared their own journey with me — thank you. You turned a personal refuge into a wonderful community. Knowing that my honest testing and research helped even one person feel a little brighter or more confident meant the world to me.

Important details for Regime Skin Care readers:

  • Closure date: The site and digital magazine will be permanently taken offline on November 9th.

  • Save what you need: If there are specific routine guides, ingredient breakdowns, or reviews you wish to keep for reference, please bookmark or screenshot them before November 9th.

While the website is disappearing, the essence of why I started it never will: taking time for yourself, finding joy in small rituals and nourishing your skin and spirit will always be essential.

Thank you for walking this road with me. May your winter be warm, cosy and full of light.

With all my love,

Belinda
