Sales of the I Heart Revolution Tropical Caramel Bath and Body Gift Set went viral during the brand’s recent Fiver Friday sale. So much so, it temporarily sold out. The three-piece set, also available in Blossom Bloom, conjures up images of summer vacations, tropical islands and the sweet fragrance of something oh-so exotic. Of course, you’ve only got to look at the packaging and some of the ingredients to realise this is a bargain basement dupe for an altogether more expensive body care set. I’ll mention no names.
Beautifully presented, this gift set came well packaged. In fact, I bought two - one for myself and one for my daughter. What did I make of the products?
Tropical caramel bath set
Only available in one size, this minis set comprises:
100ml body and hair fragrance
50ml body wash
68g nourishing body butter
Normal price: £12
The fragrance: Think of chocolate caramel combined with sandalwood and vanilla.
Revolution has pushed the boat out with the tropical caramel products’ ingredients. The body wash is infused with coconut oil and caffeine extract. The body cream also includes caffeine, which is known to tighten and brighten the skin, making it ideal for the thighs and butt. It is also considered a remedy for cellulite.
I purchased the gift set for the scent. After a long, hard day at work, nothing appeals more than an indulgent bath and body care ritual that leaves the skin soft and fragranced. I timed my delivery to arrive on a day off. In fact, I sat in my dressing gown for literally hours - waiting for Evri to deliver the goods - and ran a bath within minutes of the handover.
Performance of the tropical caramel body care set
I’ll start with the body wash, because I used that first. Of the three products, I’d say this is the least scented (that’s just my opinion). However, it’s luxurious and a small amount goes a long way. I squeezed a little more than a pea-sized amount onto a wet natural sponge and it lathered as soon as it touched my skin. I washed my entire body with this one application.
Soothing and sweetly-scented, it left my body feeling clean, refreshed and hydrated. I usually use Treacle Moon’s Sunny Brazilian Love body wash and Revolution’s tropical caramel body wash has more lather and an even more exotic fragrance. I wish this product was available in a full-size bottle. It didn’t irritate my skin (I’ve had a double mastectomy as well as radiotherapy to my right side).
The body butter is beautifully scented and rich. It could be used as a cream fragrance, if you just want it for the smell and to make it last. I applied it to my arms and legs. That was two hours ago and my skin still smells absolutely divine. It also feels hydrated, but I wouldn’t say quite as moisturised as when I use products from Garnier’s Body Superfood range. I like this body butter but its biggest selling point, for me, is the fragrance. It’s beyond lush.
Onto the body and hair mist. This is the most scented product in the collection. I’m sure, for some people, it may initially come across as too strong. However, give it a minute or two and it settles down to a sultry aroma that clings to the body without totally overpowering the senses. I really like it. This is a great alternative to Superdrug’s recently-launched body mists.
I feel absolutely amazing. Pampered, fragranced and, actually, a bit summery.
Final thoughts
As we head into autumn and winter, being able to capture the scent of exotic climes will make bath times an indulgent treat. I predict this gift set is going to end up under a lot of Christmas trees. It’s the perfect vacay companion and ideal for those who can’t resist a great-smelling bath and body set.
The tropical caramel gift set from I Heart Revolution delivers what it promises - an indulgent pamper box that attacks the senses with more than a hint of paradise.
I like it so much, I’ve signed up to be notified when it comes back in stock.
