PLouise Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser review

If you like your moisturiser to smell amazing, leave your face with a demi-glow and give you a spa-like experience every time you use it, you may like what you are about to read! The PLouise Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser collection does all of the above - and promises to deliver a lot more.

PLouise is the viral brand you will find all over TikTok. Its stunning, and a little bit quirky, packaging appeals to beauty lovers - and collectors - of all ages. PLouise Skin is a relatively new addition to the Stockport makeup academy’s portfolio of retail gold, and it’s already a huge hit.

This moisturiser is sold in a 50g pot in the following scents:

  • Fluffy Pancakes

  • Blue Raspberry

  • Pineapple

  • Watermelon

  • Peach

It is available to buy singularly or in some variations of the Fulfilling Dreams box bundle on TikTok. The cream is also sold in the Obsessed For Less bag bundle.

Described by the brand as an ‘ultra-hydrating, plumping moisturiser’, it is ‘designed to quench your skin’s thirst and restore its natural radiance’. PLouise says in the product description that the cream is formulated with nourishing ‘extracts’ that deeply penetrate the skin. The cream promises to plump, firm and moisturise - but does it?

Firstly, here’s some information about what's in the product. At the time of writing this review, the ingredient lists for Blue Raspberry and Fluffy Pancakes were not displaying on the brand’s website. Neither was the size/weight of the product; I had to zoom-in to an image to find out. This is essential information that should be easy to access. However, all the moisturisers in this range contain a number of botanicals. They include:

Sophora Flavescens Root Extract - an anti-inflammatory that is useful in anti-ageing skincare as well as in topical products for those with eczema. It is also antibacterial.

Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract (prickly pear) - rich in antioxidants. This ingredient is also revered for its moisturising and soothing properties.

Ophiopogon Japonicus Root Extract - derived from a type of grass plant found in Asia. It is a long-established ingredient in skincare products and is also commonly found in Chinese medicine. In skincare, it is revered for its ability to calm irritation, boost the skin’s natural barrier and protect skin cells from oxidative pressures.

Gentiana Scabra Root Extract - taken from a herb that is commonly found in Japan, China and Korea. It is hydrating and brightening, and is also an anti-inflammatory.

My purchase of the PLouise Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser

I bought the cream in a bundle from PLouise’s TikTok shop. It was in a Fulfilling Dreams box that comes complete with a light-up mirror (you have to supply your own LR44 batteries). Other items in my box included a foaming face wash with a scrubber brush built into the pump head, an illuminating primer and a Fluffy Fantasy face and eye palette in the shades Sienna Sun. This was Variation 6 of the Fulfilling Dreams ‘mystery’ box. (There’s no mystery at all because, on TikTok, you can choose from 10 bundle variations, which is fantastic.)

While I take my skincare very seriously (think of a lot of retinol products), I’m a true eyeshadow buff so this purchase was mostly about getting my hands on a Fluffy Fantasy palette. If you are wondering where the ‘Fluffy’ comes from - it’s Fluffy Pancakes, a new scent range originally developed specifically for skincare products in the Fulfilling Dreams box. As with many of PLouise’s launches, consumers couldn’t get enough of it - prompting the general sale of all Fluffy Pancakes skincare as individual items.

When I took a closer look at the skincare products in my box, I definitely wanted to try them. The smell, for a start, is divine. The Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser, apart from coming in a good-sized tub, reminds me of a rich, high-end body butter. It has that look to it. Milky-beige in colour, it is intensely thick and creamy. The scent I received? Fluffy Pancakes! And it does smell very much like a sweet, freshly-made Shrove Tuesday treat.

I love this moisturiser. Not because it is particularly plumping or firming (I’m 60 next year, by the way) but because of how it makes my skin feel. To be honest, every time I do my morning and evening skincare routines, the moisturiser step is always the one I want to repeat and repeat. Yep, I’m hooked! As well as leaving my face feeling soft and conditioned, it also smoothes the texture of the skin giving it a youthful-to-the-touch finish and natural-looking glow.

It’s the type of product that would go down an absolute treat at a pamper party - because it does leave you feeling amazingly pampered. I would also describe it as the New Wave in spa products - a definite disruptor when compared to premium brand offerings. It’s not just about skincare; it’s about overall health and wellbeing. Now, relax and imagine that scent… It's not overpowering, by the way, but 'just right'. If you prefer your moisturiser to be fragrance-free, this won't be for you.

Are you wondering why a middle-aged woman (aka Eyeshadow Addict Extraordinaire) is following the crowd when it comes to a product that is not seriously aimed at the anti-ageing market? I’ll let you into a little secret… I let serums do all the hard work so that my moisturiser can just, well, moisturise. I can indulge in all things Fluffy and rich and sweet-smelling, and not have a care in the world about dark spots or fine lines. My Disciple Dreamy Skin Retinyl Oil and Vitamin C serum are tackling those stalkers.

Would I buy PLouisePlump Me Pretty Moisturiser again?

Definitely. I’m already eyeing up other bundles that include the same cream. It is also available individually for £15. The Fulfilling Dreams box with four products retails at £36.

At the end of a long day, the PLouise Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser is something to look forward to. It’s an ideal ‘winding down’ product, because it soothes the senses and calms the mind - while delivering fab skin hydration.

In the mornings, it’s the perfect barrier cream to protect your skin against pollution, the chaffing cold and biting wind.

It’s worth noting that I haven’t found anything on PLouise’s website to suggest the moisturiser includes SPF - so don’t forget to apply protection against ultraviolet light too.

Right now, it’s time for me to start my evening regimen. The only step I can’t wait to get to - and will want to linger on - is the one that will see me sigh with delight at the smell and feel of my Plump Me Pretty Moisturiser. Ahh...

Yes, PLouise is Fulfilling Dreams - and they are Fluffy!
