It is rare to find a beauty release that actually manages to simplify a routine without sacrificing the creative flair we have come to expect from modern artistry brands. When Made By Mitchell announced the Face Case, it promised to be more than just a convenient bundle; it pitched itself as a portable sanctuary for makeup lovers. Having spent some considerable time with this set, I can safely say that Mitchell has managed to bottle magic once again. This review explores why this kit, available in five skin tone variations, is currently dominating my vanity and why it might be the most sensible budget investment for your makeup collection this year.

Unboxing the Face Case
The first thing that strikes you about the Face Case is the sheer intentionality of the design. We have all seen travel cases before, but they often feel like an afterthought — flimsy plastic or uninspired nylon. In contrast, this case feels substantial and unapologetically ‘Mitchell’. The signature neon hues and robust construction immediately signal that your products are protected, whether the case is sitting on a dressing table or being jostled in a bag.
The wipe-clean surface feels premium to the touch, and the internal layout is clearly designed by someone who actually uses makeup, rather than someone who just sells it. There is a place for everything, and they stay in place, which is a minor miracle for anyone who usually finds their brushes swimming in a sea of loose powder at the bottom of a bag.
Did I mention the packaging? Well, that’s rather awesome too. Put it this way: you won’t need to wrap it if you’re buying it as a gift. Another cool touch is the neon zip, complete with a custom Made By Mitchell toggle. I’m not lying when I say this case is roomy; it will hold plenty more products, including travel skincare and a toothbrush, making it ideal for weekends away.
Precision in the palm of your hand: The travel brush set
One of the most common pitfalls of ‘travel’ brush sets is the tendency for brands to shrink the quality along with the handle size. Fortunately, that is not the case here. The brushes included in the Face Case maintain the density and softness of the full-sized versions, offering the same seamless blending capabilities that put the brand on the map.

The shorter handles actually provide a surprising amount of control, allowing you to get close to a mirror for intricate detail work. Whether you are buffing out a heavy-duty base or carefully dabbing a bit of highlight onto the cheekbones, these tools perform with a professional-grade reliability that makes the ‘travel’ label feel like an understatement. They are versatile enough to handle cream, liquid, and powder with equal ease. Another thing I appreciated was that the kit arrived with the brushes already in their holders in the lid — no faffing about required.
A full face of Made By Mitchell magic
The true heart of this bundle lies in the curated selection of makeup included. Made By Mitchell is a brand built on the philosophy of multi-use products, and this kit leans heavily into that versatility. The inclusion of the iconic Blursh and other complexion essentials means you have a cohesive colour story right at your fingertips. What impressed me most was how the products interact with one another. There is a specific chemistry to Mitchell’s formulas — the way the creams and liquids melt into the skin without lifting the base underneath is a testament to the brand's product development.
You aren't just getting a random assortment of leftovers; you are getting a curated, full-face solution that takes the guesswork out of co-ordinating your look. The pigments are punchy yet blendable, allowing you to scale your look from a daytime glow to a full-glam evening vibe in minutes.
My favourite products in this collection are the mini Curve Case and the liquid highlighter. I’ve used the Curve Case every single day and there’s hardly a dent in the pans; I will certainly be repurchasing this item when it runs low. It includes a bronzer, blusher, and highlighter that are super creamy, making quick work of any look. I’ve even used the blush and highlighter on my lips, proving how versatile they are. The liquid highlighter is simply stunning — nothing too blinding, just a beautiful, natural glow.
My least favourite product is the eyeshadow palette. I bought the ‘Light’ variation and found the shadows a little ‘off’ for my skin tone. While the multi-chrome is nice, I’m not a fan of the shade mix. However, I’m not fussed about this because the other products in the set are truly amazing. The Face Case also includes a variation-specific Blursh blush and Blursh bronzer, as well as a graphic eyeliner and a 'Bare' stunning, clear lip oil. In total, the set includes a whopping thirteen items. Yes, THIRTEEN!

The verdict on portability and value
When I weigh up the cost of purchasing these items individually against the price point of the Face Case (currently £28*), the value proposition becomes incredibly clear. You are essentially securing a professional-standard kit for a fraction of the usual investment. However, the value is found in more than the initial outlay; it is found in the time saved and the organisation gained.
It is rare to find a kit that genuinely contains everything you need for a complete transformation without requiring supplementary products — except, perhaps, for your favourite foundation and mascara. For the frequent traveller, the budding artist, or the enthusiast who simply wants their collection to look as good as it performs, the Made By Mitchell Face Case is a triumph. It is stylish, sturdy, and filled with high-performance formulas that make getting ready the best part of your day.
It’s so good, I’ve already booked a mini-break!
If you have been sitting on the fence about investing in a comprehensive travel kit, I hope this deep dive has helped clarify whether the Face Case is the right fit for your vanity. If there is a specific product within the case you would like me to swatch, or a particular technique you want to see in a follow-up post, let me know in the comments section. Don't forget to share this review with any fellow makeup lovers who are currently hunting for the perfect all-in-one solution for their next trip away.
*The RRP is £50. I bought my Face Case from the brand's TikTok store. However, it is currently also £28 on Made By Mitchell's website.
