Use it or lose it - UK cosmetics brands struggling
It's been announced today that yet another UK beauty brand could be going into administration. Beauty Bay's website is currently down. The brand has not gone bust but is seeking protection from creditors while it restructures or finds a way to raise capital to keep the business going. It could be sold.
This is shocking news. Beauty Bay is what I would term 'a good brand to do business with'. Always prompt with deliveries, it is the only official UK outlet for some of the world's most innovative products. In addition, its own brand of eyeshadow palettes stand out for their unrivalled quality. Beauty Bay's shimmers are in a league of their own. If you trawl through the 'Makeup' section on our blog, you will find a fair few glowing reviews for the palettes.
Troubles at Beauty Bay follow hot on the heels of the sale of Barry M. It has been purchased by Warpaint, the company behind brands like Technic, W7 and Chit Chat. Having to sell the business must have come as a terrible blow to the owners of Barry M - it was a family firm with a proud history.
If you look around the web and on platforms like TikTok, take note of all the slashed prices. This is a sign that the beauty industry in the UK is struggling. Now is the time to support the brands you love. It really could be a case of 'use it or lose it'.
